These French fries are a quick and easy side dish for breakfast that’s ready in 15 minutes! Serve this morning’s potatoes with your favorite morning entre for a deliciously satisfying start to the day.

I do my Sunday morning ritual, hit the gym, and have breakfast at my favorite restaurant. Three eggs, Canadian bacon, and French potatoes are almost always on my menu. The best part of my week is it!

But lately, I’ve been expenditure more time at family, and I’m starting to miss breakfast at restaurants. That is until I learned how to create the PERFECT home fries in the style of a diner using only my air fryer.

Why We Enjoy Home Fries in an Air Fryer?

We enjoy home fries with every meal, including breakfast and dinner. This is simple to prepare and effortless to clean up, like many air fryer recipes!

  • Because we use far less oil, they are healthy (and equally delicious).
  • They can be created in a matter of minutes!
  • With a little tweaking to the cook times, you can use even frozen potatoes!

But lately, I’ve been expenditure more time at family, and I’m starting to miss breakfast at restaurants. These are just like my cherished restaurant orders – very crispy and golden brown on the outside and comfy and creamy on inner side. Also, because there is little oil used, the home fries are not at all greasy.

Start by prepping the potatoes and cooking them at 200°F for 15-20 minutes. You should move the fry basket about every 5 minutes to cook evenly. At first, the color does not develop easily, but when it is completed, it becomes a beautiful golden color.

Ingredients

POTATOES

Due to their great stiffening content, red potatoes are a favorite choice for this dish. When heated, the inner side is soft and the outside is crispy.

ONIONS & PEPPERS

This breakfast side gets a thumbs up for the bright, tasty addition of peppers and onions with a hint of garlic and ginger & seasoned salt!

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil,
  • 1 1/2 pounds russet potatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped red or green bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter.

Variations

To make this dish into a completely different dish, combine baby potatoes, yams, onions, and even bacon pieces!

Tips for Making Home Fries in an Air Fryer

  • The vegetables are prevented from overcooking by cooking the potatoes for a little while longer than that the peppers and onions.
  • Potatoes should be peeled, chopped (if desired), and tossed in oil with the seasonings for the recipe.
  • Place potatoes in the basket of an air fryer and cook as directed.
  • Add peppers and onions to the fryer basket after tossing in the melted butter. Continue cooking until the potatoes are crispy and golden brown and the vegetables are soft.

NOTES

  • Cut potatoes into equal-sized pieces.
  • The ideal potato size is one and a half inches.
  • If preferred, you are welcome to substitute olive oil for nonstick spray.
  • Check the potato after 12 minutes because every air fryer is different. Mine required a total of 15 minutes.
  • For up to 4 days, keep leftovers in the refrigerator.

What to Offer Potatoes in the air fryer?

  • Create the ideal side dish for any meal!
  • We enjoy a Beautiful egg casserole at breakfast. Have some eggs benedict and perhaps a side of fruit salad from the summer.
  • Add a few dozen morning glory muffins and a pitcher of mimosas for a magnificent spread!
  • All three ketchup, salsa, and buffalo sauce make excellent dipping sauces!
